Blocking out the light June 4, 2019 bpsmisspoole Today we challenged ourselves to make a lightproof den. We soon found out that to make darkness we would have to block out all the light and that light could get into the smallest gaps. Which den do you think kept out the most light?
I like the word epic Daniel. It was a great lesson for me – I didn’t have to do anything apart from admire the inventiveness of my class. You’re all engineers in the making. Reply
This is very unique and creative! I love the different ideas that were used. -Nainaβs aunt from Canada Reply
Well done everyone. I can see everyone working very hard on the experiment to block out light. Well done 3P. ππππ Reply
Yes, we found out a material has to be opaque to block out the light. If you were going to make a light proof den again, what material would you use? (Opaque means you can’t see light through it) Reply
Yours was a difficult material Joshua, I think you did a fantastic job. It’s a shame that sneaky light manages to get through even the tiniest holes. Reply
Interesting lesson watching all of you create different ways of finding out which material was best to block out light. Well done 3P. Reply

Mine was not light proof because it still had holes in it. Next time I would use cardboard.
