Letter from Francesca Simon!
Me and my buddy wrote a letter to Francesca Simon and then an excited thing happened; she replied back! We also got a post card and she said ‘To Henrik, thank you for the letter. My favorite character is Peter because nobody likes him, oh poor thing!’ Also she answered some of my other questions. She wrote down her new books that you can buy from the book store. Miss Mortimer showed them to 3K and the Year 4 teachers and they were amazed!

A few weeks ago, me and my class wrote letters to our favourite author. My favourite author was Francesca Simon because she wrote fabulous chapters full of comedy. I really love her books .If you want to hear some exciting news then keep reading this letter. The exciting news is that my author sent me a reply and it was a sheet giving all the answers to my questions. I was so amazed when I heard that my reply was from Francesca Simon. Miss Mortimer showed 3K then she showed Mrs Daniels, Miss Hadley, Miss Haywood and Miss Berrymen. All of the teachers were really shocked!

Year 3 Christian Creation Story
By Callum, Serena and Kaylan.
In year 3 we have watched a video about the Christian Creation story and we have learnt how Christians think the world started. It took 7 days to make the world. Day 1- He made light because it was so dark and he made light to make the world brighter. Day 2- He created the sky so the sun had somewhere to shine; and he also made the sea. Day 3- He made trees, flowers and plants for the land. Day 4- He made the sun, moon and stars. Day 5- He made birds in the sky and fish in the sea. Day 6- He made animals that walked on land. He also made Adam and Eve. Day 7- All God’s work was done so he had a rest from creating the entire world because he was very tired.
Look at our fluffy chicks.
We had so much fun watching them running around on the carpet and eating the grain. However they seemed to like the taste of our carpet instead!
Week Three Chick News by Eloise
Finally we have our new arrivals in the class…the eggs have hatched and we now have six gorgeous
yellow baby chicks! We have named them all as they are very different to each other and have their own personalities.
Because the chicks have hatched they no longer need to be kept in the incubator. They now have a giant cage where they live in our classroom. Inside the cage the chicks have food, water and a heater. They need the heater still because they are only young and
they might get cold so they need to be kept warm.
Also in the cage we have put down shredded paper this is so the chicks can sleep and be comfy. We are always checking on the chicks throughout the day as we are now their mummies and daddies, and it is our responsibility to look after them and
make sure they have love, food and care. This will help them to stay alive and grow.
Every morning two new monitors check the cage by cleaning it and emptying out the paper, and giving the chick’s fresh food and water. We also sit in a big circle and get the chicks out the cage and let them have a run around. We sit quietly so they don’t get scared; we also get to stroke them and it’s amazing!
Week One. Our Chick Diary by Arjun and Meshach
This week we came in to the classroom then we saw a red box with a white top. Then Miss Smith asked us “What is the
name of the box called? ” Then we started to guess, after we were told that it
was an incubator. Then we had a look at the eggs that were in the incubator. I
feel curious as I wasn’t sure what it was.
Next Miss Smith asked us to investigate the eggs. Most of the
class thought there were chicks in the eggs but we weren’t sure. We researched
in the books and on the internet; we even got to look at the eggs that were in
the incubator being kept warm. After we had researched and thought of what was
in the eggs, we shared our ideas with the class. We decided that we thought the
eggs would hatch and there would be chicks inside. The next day in topic we
drew the eggs and also our idea for what was inside. We used sketching pencils
to do this. I drew my egg with a Platypus hatching out of it and Arjun drew a
chick in his.
Hopefully the eggs will hatch next week; we wonder if we are
right and whether the chicks will hatch or not?

Ancient Egyptian Exhibition
Today we all had a fabulous time at the Ancient Egyptian Exhibition. Our favourite part was getting to show everybody else all of the fantastic work that we have been doing this half term.
Please let us know which part you enjoyed most or what you learnt during the exhibition.
Thank you to everybody who took part today and for all of the parents who came to visit.
Miss Kirkham and Miss Smith.
Our Fantastic Scarab Egyptian Beetles. By Ace, Benyamin and Jaydon.
We have been making Egyptian Scarab Beetles for our Egyptian Exhibition. We made our beetles using tissue paper for the head and body and pipe cleaners for the legs. We had so much fun making these scary beetles. We hope you like them.
My letter about the Gurdwara
Dear Indie,
My name is Khushimran and yesterday I visited the Gurdwara. I just wanted to thank you for taking us all over to the Gurdwara. Can I tell you something? Did you know that when you go to the Gurdwara you can worship your family?
My favourite part was when I went to the dome, because when I saw that crystal I was captivated. I was so shocked when I saw the crystal. I liked going in the prayer room. I had the purshaad and it tasted delicious. It was all beautiful. By the way can I ask you something if you do not mind? How many people live in the Gurdwara?
Yours Sincerely,
Khushi.
