I loved going on the websites. Thanks Miss Martindale for putting them on.I expecially love the animations.I found some facts on some of the wbsites too.I found some storys on the internet aswell.I love doing storys about other cultures.we read some storys in class. My favourite was the Banana bird.It reminds me of the story of the hare and the tortosie.
I have watched a animation called The Be.The website is the second one on the bootom. In The Be,I saw a man playing the Claves. It is like the Claves we use in drumming.I think Claves are something Aborigines play as a instrument. It is also aa very good animation. You should watch it.Now I am watching Moon Man.
I like all the animations but I think Brolga was my favourite. It nearly made me cry.
Aboriginal people are indigenous (the first) Australians. They tell stories in words and pictures about how the world began. They call this Dreamtime. Their stories are called Dreamings.
Aboriginal art uses ‘Earth Colours’.
Why? These are the colours of the desert. Aboriginal artists made their paints from natural materials
Aboriginal paintings also use lots of dots.
Why? They used their fingers or sticks. There weren’t any art shops where they could buy brushes !
Aboriginal art includes lots of symbols for the natural things around them.
A witchetty grub is a kind of caterpillar that Aboriginal people eat as a special treat.
Thank you both for your wonderful information. Well done!
