KS2 The Slam. By Udeshpal

On Friday we had a slam final because we were really lucky to have a inspirational rapping poet in school called Matt Windall.
Earlier in the week Matt spent time in every class in Key stage 2 and he helped all of us to write a rap. We wrote the raps in small groups
and Miss Martindale was our judge when we performed our phenomial, remarkable raps. Then the winning group from each class went in to the slam. When it came to the grand slam final’s every one peformed their rap’s and the teachers voted to see whose rap was the best. The winners were in year 5. The raps were outstanding, phenominal and mind blowing. I hope Matt comes back next year!

Inspire Workshop for parents 4M

Today we had a most wonderful afternoon. We were very lucky to be joined by our parents who played some writing games with us. We taught our parents some of our VCOP games that we love to play and we made and played a board game to help us generate ideas for stories. Everybody had a brilliant afternoon! Thank you to the parents who were able to join us. Of course we made everybody sing and dance the Egyptian connective song too!

The Time Travellers At Bearwood. By Harjun

Yesterday morning, just before Miss Martindale and Mrs Griffiths were about to announce the winners of the precious Oscars, we had some unexpected visitors! Three unusual confused women came in to our classroom. They were dressed in old fashioned clothes they had a black country accent. One of the ladies told us that they were on the tram but a strike of lightening struck the tram and now they were lost. Everyone was so shocked and amazed nobody could believe that time travellers had come to Bearwood. They asked us to do some research about royal family since 1910 to 2011. They wanted us to do the research so they can get back to 1910. Today we have been researching about the life in 1910 to 2011. We have decided to make a guide that compares life in 1910 to life in 2011. Everybody in the class has chosen a different area to research for their page in the book.

Film premiere

Well done everybody! The films were amazing. All of your parents could not stop saying how much they enjoyed watching the films and how proud they are of you all. You have worked so hard and it has definitely paid off. I feel so proud of every single one of you. I had a little tear in my eye when I watched the films because I was so overwhelmed by the high quality of work.
I can’t believe how fortunate we are to have worked with Dom Breadmore. He has inspired us all and helped us to achieve more than we imagined we could.

You definitely all deserve an Oscar but we will vote on Monday and some of you will be awarded with one!

We will put the films on the blog eventually, but we want to sell some dvds first, so we will keep the world who reads our blog in suspense for a little while longer!

How did it feel to finally watch the films? Please add a comment to this post. Also, ask your parents to comment too.

Happy New Year! By Max and Noorulain.

Happy new year! Sorry we have not posted for a while because we have been too busy finishing off our superb films with Dom and have been too busy with exciting new term activities.

In numeracy this week we have learned about area and perimeter. Today we had to show what we know by designing our own theme park and it was really enjoyable.Through out the week we have been learning about area and perimeter.Area is the space inside a fence or a building. The perimeter is the length of the outside of a shape and all the sides added together.
