This week we have been making bread just like the Hen did in the traditional tale ‘The Little Red Hen.’

We have enjoyed measuring out the correct amounts of each ingredient we needed, mixing it altogether and kneading it, before baking it in the oven to create lovely bread.

We’ve had lots of fun enjoying the wintery weather!

Our topic for next half term is winter. In preparation please talk at home about the winter season such as:

*weather and seasons 

*dressing appropriately 

* animals that live in wintery weather

Today Reception were visited by some friendly nurses who have taught  us all about how to keep and our hands and teeth clean and healthy.

We had lots of fun shaking hands with our friends to see how fast germs could spread.

The theatre has come to Reception at Bearwood!

We have had lots of fun performing songs, dances and puppet shows in our theatre to our friends in Reception.

We have been learning about life in an African village and we discussed how some children walk to school barefoot. We experimented with walking on different materials and described how each texture felt underfoot. We used lots of fantastic adjectives like scratchy, prickly, spiky, sharp, soft, fluffy, squelchy, crunchy, smooth and many more!
