This morning we went over to Calthorpe Haven to walk a mile for Sports Relief.  Please ensure your sponsor forms are back in school as soon as possible.  Thank you in advance for your kind donations this wonderful charity!!  

Next week our text will be: “The Gruffalo.”  We shall be learning about adjectives.  Adjectives are descriptive words.  We shall be describing the character of the Gruffalo: long, sharp claws or purple, spikey back etc.  Choose a character from a book at home.  What adjectives could you use to describe what they look like?

This Friday (21st March 2014) we shall be walking one mile for Sports Relief.  Reception will be going over to Calthorpe Haven first thing in the morning, so please ensure your child is on time for school so that they do not miss out.  Please return your sponsor form to school as soon as possible, with all money necerssary.  Thank you in advance for your kind generosity!!

Next week we shall be using the text: “The Three Little Pigs.”  Watch this story with your child.  Who are the characters in the story?  How would the pigs feel when the wolf attempts to blow down their house?  How do the pigs feel at the end of the story?

This week our text is: “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.”  We went over to the forest to build a house for the bears.  Our session began by singing the song ‘Gonna build a house….’  The children then had to find sticks and twigs around the forest, and worked together to build a house for three teddy bears.  There was a lot of conversation about the size of the sticks, and whether they were too big/small etc.  The children made a fantastic house!
