This week we have been learning about Diwali, we have made diva lamps and listened to the story of Rama and Sita. We have also tried stick dancing in P.E!

We have been learning about shapes this week, we have been naming shapes and looking for 2D shapes in the environment! Can you help your child notice shapes when they are out and about!

This week we have been thinking about how we plan our learning and how we challenge ourselves! We have been looking back at our previous learning and thinking about our next steps. We use our silver mask for planning!

This week reception are looking at shapes, so during forest school we searched for different shapes and then made some shapes out of sticks.

We have been using lots of Mathematical vocabulary this week to measure ourselves and objects around the classroom! We used the story of Titch to discuss short/shorter/shortest, tall/taller/tallest, small/smaller /smallest and big/bigger/biggest. Could you please encourage your child to use this language in everyday conversations to reinforce their learning!

We have been celebrating EID this week, the children have been sharing their experiences and some children have been showing us how they worship on this special day!

We have had lots of fun this week, exploring with our senses! We have been on a feely hunt outside, we have used our sense of smell to guess what was in different pots. We have made loud and quiet sounds using a variety of instruments and we have been looking at the world using different coloured lenses. Next week our learning will be around the book ‘Titch’ we will be looking at how we are all different and unique and celebrating diversity!
