This week we have been looking at clips from the film ” Happy Feet.” We have discussed the character of Mumble thinking of different words to describe him. We have also looked closely at non-fiction books, using these to create a penguin fact file!

This morning we went outside to discover our polar animals frozen in the ice! We discussed where the ice had come from and also ways to help the animals escape, helping to extend their vocabulary. e.g. freezing, melting. It was lots of fun!

Next week we shall be using the film “Happy Feet” to support our work on Ice Age.  Research penguins with your child; using books and the internet to find information .  We cannot wait to hear all your interesting facts on penguins!

As part of our topic on Ice Age we are looking at the short film “The Snowman” this week. Watch this film with your child focusing on the music and how it makes them feel e.g. calm, scared, excited.
