The children followed instructions to plant sunflower seeds in English they then wrote their own set of instructions for how to plant seeds.

As part of our Science learning about plants today we looked at different seeds. The children enjoyed comparing the size, colour and texture of different types of seeds and grouping them based on what they could see and feel. Here are some pictures of the children at work.

The children used different joining methods, their D.T. Skills, recycled materials and their Sharing and Creative powers to build model rockets at the end of our ‘Out of This World’ topic. Here is our work in progress and some finished rockets.

This week in English we have been reading the story Whatever Next! We had lots of fun using the musical instruments to make music to match the different events in the story.

This week in Maths we have been learning to tell the time. The children were confident telling and showing the time at o’clock so we have started to tell the time at half past the hour. Please encourage your child to continue telling the time at home. Can they read these clock times to you?

We have started to learn about Neil Armstrong and his journey to the moon. Can you find out more information about him to share with your friends this week?

As we started our new topic today we received a message from a minion called Stuart. He told us he had lost some parts from his spaceship and needed help to find them. We found some very unusual objects in our playground. Here are some photographs of our day. We are looking forward to learning all about space and space travel now.

Yesterday the children raised money and enjoyed themselves at the disco dancing and having fun. Today we dressed as superheroes to help to raise more money for Children in Need. Check the newsletter to see how much money we raised as a school.

This week we have used our Art skills and Creative Power to make poppy pictures for Remembrance Day. The chose the materials they wanted to use to create their pictures.

As part of our seasons work in Science we visited Calthorpe Haven to look at some of the changes that happen at this time of year. We collected lots of leaves that had fallen from the trees and used them with our Art skills to create pictures. Here are some photographs of our investigating and creativity.
