1S had a fantastic time at Twycross Zoo. We had the opportunity to see lots of animals that we have been learning about in our topic Rumble in the Jungle. We will use this visit to help us with our artwork over the next few weeks. 

1S have been working hard this week to form their numbers correctly when counting to 10. Keep up the good work! 

1S have been tasting delicious fruit from all over the world. They worked hard to describe the different fruits taste and texture. 

After investigating where seeds grow best last week we have now planted beans and tomato seeds. We will be looking after our seeds by watering them, keeping them warm and giving them lots of sunlight. 

As part of our learning in Science we looked at different seeds and sorted them into groups looking at the size, shape and colour of the seeds.  

Mrs Hadley came to us with a problem- she can no longer buy her favourite vegetable soup in the shops. We are going to learn all about vegetables and how to grow them before solving Mrs Hadley’s problem by making her favourite vegetable soup.  

We looked at Captain Blackbeard last week as part of our topic. This week for homework we are researching famous pirates of the past.  

As part of our new topic we have been learning about Christopher Columbus and his adventures in the past.
