They used lots of recycled materials such as bottles, tissue rolls, boxes and cartons. Also alot of glue and sticky tape.
We all had a fabulous time, especially the men and 1A would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for coming to school today.
1N had a fantastic morning today working with their Dads, Granddads, Uncles, Brothers and Cousins. We listened to the story How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers and then used lots of recycled materials to make model rockets. We enjoyed showing our families how to use their planning, teamwork, sharing, persistence and creative learning powers.
1A have been working really hard since the start of term and have been awarded 100 marbles. Their reward was an extra playtime which they all enjoyed.
After our fabulous trip to Twycross Zoo last week, Year One painted some of the animals that they had seen.
In Literacy we have used The Tiger Who Came to Tea to help us to write our own stories with a familiar setting. Here are some of the children’s stories.
Once there was a girl called Nickyla. She was kind and friendly. She lived in a shirt house with her mom and there was a knock at the door. Nickyla wandered who it was. It was a red lion. The lion asked “can I have tea with you?” “Yes” said mom. The lion eat all the food in the kitchen. He eat all the food in one big mouthful. Then the lion drank all the tea and then drank all the water. Then he said “good bye.” Mommy was angry but they went to KFC and had a cheese burger.

Once there lived a boy called Hugo he was good and fantastic. He lived with his mom and his mom was beautiful and amazing. They lived in a shiny house. It was clean. They were eating lunch when there was a knock at the door.
Mommy opened the door and a dog said “can I join you for lunch?” Mom said “yes.” So the dog ate everything in the house. He ate everything in one big gulp. Then the dog drank all the water and all of the juice and tea. The dog said “I’ve got to go now bye.” Suddenly magic food appeared and they ate it all. Then they went shopping and came home.
