Anansi the Spider Story
For Black History Week Nursery have been listening to and watching Anansi stories. Please enjoy this one with us.
Anansi stories originated in west Africa. They were taken to Jamaica and other parts of the New World by Ashantislaves. The stories were told from grandparents to parents to children. Anansi exists as a spider a man or a combination of the two.
We have been scrimbling paint patterns on the table top then we took prints.
We use both our hands as we scrimble to stimulate both halves of the brain. Scrimbling develops our early writing skills.
We had lots of fun at Himley beach.
Ruth Miskin Phonics
As discussed in the recent Parent Meetings, these are the phonic sounds that you should be practising at home with your child. The more confident they are at recognising the sounds to each letter, the easier blending will be when they get to Reception; blending is putting the sounds together to form a word i.e. c-a-t is cat.
