A snippet of work about Jesse Owens, by Ibraheem

Year 4 are celebrating the remarkable achievements of Jesse Owens as part of our display for Black History Month.

Adolf  Hitler was the leader of Germany. He did not want black people to compete in the Berlin Olympics. He claimed that black people are not the same as white people. He also claimed that black people were not as good as white people at sport. However, Jesse Owens  didn’t care and he competed in the Berlin Olympics. He won 4 gold medals!  Jesse made everyone happy because he was brave. Jesse Owens proved that black and white people are the same. He showed that everyone should be treated equally. He believed  in himself and got 4 gold medals.  Some people suggested that he couldn’t win a single medal. Jesse Owens followed his hopes and dreams.

A brilliant reflection on the impact of Jesse Owens, Ibraheem, well done!
