We have been learning about different types of skeletons in school.
Can you remember the 3 main functions of your skeleton?
What different kinds of skeletons do different animals have?
An activity in which children aged 8-9 can watch how different animals move and then try to label parts of their skeletons.

The three main functions of the skeleton are:
1)Movement, you wouldn’t be able to move a single milimetre without bones.
2)Protection, your bones protect all your organs.
3)Support, bones also help you to stand up other wise you will be like a jelly fish!

I agree without bones you`ll be like a Jelly fish you also need bones to protect your organs like heart, lungs and intestines!!!

I also found out on one of Myas sites that there was a doctor from Manchester who had invented the hip replacment in early 1960s. Mya your websites are amazing I liked the quiz where you have to make the body of the skelton!

I hoped the websites all helped you, there are some very interesting facts on there.
The Great White Shark or sometimes called the “Great White” scientific name is Carcharodon carcharias. There are over 600 species of Sharks and rays with the GWS (Great White Shark) belonging to a group of fast-swimming sharks called mackerel sharks GWS are usually solitary animals but have been seen in pairs and even occasionally in groups up to 7 or 8
DIFFERENCE TO OTHER FISHS
GWS are fish, but unlike most fish do not have bones but rather a “cartilaginous skeleton” 2 other differences are their scales which are not smooth and oily like most fish but very rough like glasspaper, and their gills (gill slits) which are not covered like most fish but are open.
WHERE DOES T LIV?
The GWS is found in temperate (mild) waters fairly close to the shoreline They are found in most parts of the world including North & South America, Africa, Japan, China, Russia, New Zealand, and of course Australia.

I really enjoyed learning about the human body.
I also enjoy learning about the body its very cool!!! also at 1st I didn`t know the proper names for the body but know I do instead of the skull its could the clavic (I think)
Actually Paige, the skull is called the cranium. The clavicle is your collar bone. Miss Martindale : )
I thought that I knew that it began with a `c` but forgot what it was called.
