Welcome to a new year

This week councillors from Y3 to Y6 met each other.

We appointed Sian, in Y6, as our chairperson and we will decide on our vice chair next week.

These are some of the things we thought a school council should do:

  • listen to people
  • discuss and share their ideas
  • keep all pupils safe
  • be fair
  • make the school, including the playground, a better place
  • solve problems
  • model good behaviour
  • have a say in the curriculum and lessons

If you think that there is anything that we should be doing, please let us know.

If you haven’t already, please let your representatives know what you would like as rewards on your merit cards.

Meeting 18/6/13

Please ask your class about:

How to make children to use the toilets correctly

What rewards they would like for their merits

School councillors for next year

Your views are important so please share them with your class councillor during class council.

Our Vision Statement

Which of these statements best sums up what school council is about?

Statement 1:

“Our school is a aprtnership of pupils and adults, sharing ideas, finding solutions and taking action to make our school outstanding.”

Statement 2:

“Our school council is fair, democratic and friendly. We work together to make sure everyone in school feels part of our community.”

Please let your class councillors know which one you would prefer as our vision statement.

The toilets keep getting dirty there is also no locks or soap in the toilets.

“we don’t use our toilets at home like that.” Eloise Y4

School council need to come up with a solution for this.

School councillors need to bring ideas from their classes next week , on how to Tackle the Toilet Trouble.

Eeshah and Elliot will tell Mr Spicer which cubicles, if any, need a lock.

It was agreed that School Council will have an assembly at the end of next half term.

Orion will meet with Mr Meally and ask him about the ICT programme and feedback to school council.
