Today we had a lot of fun making our own play dough.

We added all the ingredients we needed, we mixed and stirred, squeezed and squashed.

We loved our dough so much we took it home to play with!

We have really enjoyed our half term topic, looking at winter. Over the last few weeks we have celebrated Christmas, explored snow and ice and made some fantastic winter themed artwork.

In Reception we have been working on our technology skills, using computers, music stations and, more. Well done!

Reception enjoyed exploring slime today. We explored how it smelt and felt, and how we could stretch it, roll it, swish it and drip it to change how it felt and looked.

Thank you for all our parents for joining their children for an exciting visit to the library. It is really important to share a love of stories and books with our children and we thank you for your continued support.

Jeremy Strong came to Bearwood today!

Lots of us dressed up as our favourite characters from stories written by Jeremy.

Jeremy came down to read “Nellie Choc-Ice” to us and ask about our favourite stories and we had the chance to ask Jeremy questions. 

This week we have been making bread just like the Hen did in the traditional tale ‘The Little Red Hen.’

We have enjoyed measuring out the correct amounts of each ingredient we needed, mixing it altogether and kneading it, before baking it in the oven to create lovely bread.

We’ve had lots of fun enjoying the wintery weather!

Our topic for next half term is winter. In preparation please talk at home about the winter season such as:

*weather and seasons 

*dressing appropriately 

* animals that live in wintery weather

Today Reception were visited by some friendly nurses who have taught  us all about how to keep and our hands and teeth clean and healthy.

We had lots of fun shaking hands with our friends to see how fast germs could spread.
