Stage 1 We begin our multiplication journey, using objects. We ask the children how many each individual has and how many objects we have altogether. Stage 2 Children begin by using a number line and carry out repeated addition. We would encourage the children to look for patterns whilst they do this. Once they are confident to do this to 20 we then move forward and use the number square.
