Nursery and Reception Make Bubbles!

This week Nursery and Reception have had a fantastic week making their own bubble solution and then some bubble wands to use. They worked hard as a team to mix fairy liquid, sugar and water together to make the solution, then worked independently using a pipe cleaner and a stick to make a wand. Finally, we dipped our wands into the solution and blew some beautiful, big bubbles! Well done everyone!

Reception’s potions

Reception had a fantastic week creating some potions on the field. They also used their imagination to decide what magical things we were going to put into our potion. We had imaginary butterflies, strawberries and slime put into our pot. They then had to transfer water from one bucket across the field to the magic pot using pipets, ladles and syringes. After some magic words and a bit of glitter the potion turned them into their favourite characters. Super effort Reception.

Year 1 Potions

This half term, Year 1’s topic is ‘Once Upon a Time…’ In forest school we have made some potions which turned us into characters from our favourite fairytales! First we collected some items from the forest to put into our potion. The children needed to use their imagination to decide what they were putting into the magic pot. We had unicorn horns, dragon’s claws, ladybird wings and lots of other exciting ideas. Next we needed to add the water and say our magic words to make the potion active. After a sprinkle of the potion the children spent the second half of their session being their favourite superhero. Super work Year 1.

1P Team Building Games

This week 1P played some games to help us become better at working together to solve a problem. We played a game called ‘Mingle’ where the children needed to mingle together and then once a command was shouted out they needed to group themselves together to according to that command. Then we played an animal noise game where the group were split into two and each child was given an animal that matched someone in the opposite group. They needed to find their matching animal by only making the animal noise.  We had really good fun this week and the children listened and followed the game rules really well! Fantastic team work 1P.

RG potion making

This week reception had a magical week creating potions. They collected leaves, twigs, grass and flowers and pretended they were something different when they threw them in the pot chanting their magic words. The children used their imagination to pretend their items were butterfly wings, jelly, frogs legs and sparkles to make their potion. Afterwards we sprayed the magic potion on them and the group decided the potion was going to turn them into Mr. Men!
