Firefighters visit recount
On Thursday 19th May 2011 class 5LH had a visit from the West Midlands firefighters. We had learnt all about Smoke Alarms.
These are a few things we had learnt:
• That the Smoke Alarm should be in the middle of the landing
• If you have two put the second on the stairs
• At least test your smoke alarm every month
• Don’t paint over the smoke alarm
• Vacuum the smoke alarm gently every week to keep the dust off.
If your smoke alarm stops working buy another one but don’t leave it out of use put it up straight away. If you do not know how get a professional to do it. The officer said “ do not put smoke alarms in the attic, bathroom or kitchen “.

i realy liked the pictures and ithink every body who did that enjoin it.
I learnt a lot about smoke alarms. I know I should never take out the bateries on a smoke alarm and I know there should be never be smoke alarms in the Kitchen or the Bathroom.
I liked the guessing games.
I learnt alot after these workshops and from this workshop I learnt that you should never take out the batteries on a smoke alarm. Also I know there should never be smoke alarms in the Kitchen or the Bathroom. I learnt a few things from this workshop. Now I know that the Smoke Alarm should be in the middle of the landing. Along with that i discovered If you have two put the second on the stairs. You should atleast test your smoke alarm every month. Another important thing you must never do is paint over the smoke alarm. Also vacuum the smoke alarm gently every week to keep the dust off. I really enjoyed this workshop.

I learnt a lot about smoke alarms! I learnt you should never take out the batteries of smoke alarms and I learnt you should never have smoke alarms near your Kitchen or Bathroom. I really enjoyed learning about smoke alarms!
Yes Riya beacuse then the smoke alarm can’t tell your house is on fire.
This was a very entertaining and fun visit.
I enjoyed the fire fighters visit a lot it was so fun seeing the errors in the picture.

Remember hold an adults hand when crossing the road , concentrate where your going , wear a seatbelt in the car and wear bright clothes at night.
The firefighters are very right. They do there job very well. But you have done a good job to remember all that and post a blog about it. Well Done.
