1N ‘Going on a Bear Hunt ‘

As part of our literacy lesson this week we are looking at stories with a rhythm. The story of  We’re going on a Bear Hunt was written by Michael Rosen &  is a favourite with children and adults.

The children went into the hall where we had prepared areas to depict parts of the story. They  imagined they were going to find the Bear, through grass, a river, mud, a forest, a snow storm & finally into a cave. The children really enjoyed acting out the various parts!

We hope  the following photographs show you the fun they had.

Today in 1N the children got to solve clues and find our misssing puppet. They came to the classroom to find there is a bottle and inside the bottle there is a piece of paper. They came up with different ideas, Who can it be from? What it might say? Where did it come from?
Then the children got to go on a hunt around the school to find our missing puppet. They read the clues that had been left by Pirate Captain Jack. They had to solve the clue and find the next place where our puppet could be. They had to work in a team. Please look at our pictures.

Topic – Once Upon a Time! – 1N – 16/04/12

Children in 1N have had the opportunity to go over Calthorpe Haven and discover things and investigate what they are. They discovered a shinny mirror, a glass slipper, fairy godmother wings, a wand, bricks, sticks, witches costume, gingerbread man cutter, flour, and three bowls with spoons. All these things are related to traditional tales. The children were questioned about, Who they belong to? Why are they here?

The children enjoyed exploring and investigating. Please take a look at our pictures.
