Fun with maths extras

I am re-posting this so that the children don’t have to scroll so far to get to it again. I have added a 100 square as we are now working with numbers up to 100. Also, we have been trying to read time to the hour – o’clock and half part, so I have included an interactive clock with draggable/ movable hands.. Can you count in tens up to 100? 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 … What comes next..?

Science – Visit to Bearwood Road Allotments

On Wednesday 3rd May, 1S and 1L visited Bearwood Allotments. We had lots of fun exploring and learning about plants and soil. Stephen Taylor – from West Midlands Farm Discovery – The Country Trust – helped us learn more about planting seeds and what plants need to grow. We planted radish and mangetout / pea seeds, explored the plants already growing like strawberries, lettuce, radishes and also herbs like mint, sage and chives to name but a few.

RE – The Lost Son

This half term, we have been looking at the parable of β€˜The Lost Son’. A parable is a simple story told to teach a lesson about how to behave. Jesus told many parables and these can be found in the Gospels in the Christian holy book called the Bible. Here is a clip showing the story.

What was Jesus trying to help people understand with this story?

Do any other stories from any other religions have messages like this?
