In the Garden

Our new Half-term topic after the Easter holiday will be ‘In the Garden’.

We will be looking at life outside in the open air and exploring the natural world around us.

We hope to become nature detectives in our search for mini beasts as well as great gardeners by growing plants and vegetables.

In preparation please spend some time outside with your children and explore together, we would love to talk about your adventures when we return to school.

Making Bread!

This week we have been making bread just like the Hen did in the traditional tale ‘The Little Red Hen.’

We have enjoyed measuring out the correct amounts of each ingredient we needed, mixing it altogether and kneading it, before baking it in the oven to create lovely bread.

Amazing Animals

After a fantastic half term looking at all things under the sea, we now look forward to our new theme for after the half term break…

Amazing Animals will be our new topic and allow us to explore all the different animals in our world, from wild animals, pets and vets, life on a farm and animals in the zoo.

Please support your child with some pre-learning by taking the time to talk to them about different animals and their habitats, where they live, what they do, what they eat, how we care for them…..

If you have the time, a trip to a farm or zoo may be a good opportunity to see some of the animals we will be learning about in a real life setting! Or maybe you have pets at home that you can talk about or bring pictures into school to show your friends?

We are really looking forward to our new topic and hope our children will enjoy learning about the many animals we share our world with.
