Forest School Fire and Food Week

This week Reception and Key Stage 1 have enjoyed their last week at Forest School cooking on a campfire. We talked about lighting and maintaining a small fire safely. We also recapped all the rules to keep ourself safe and talked about our favourite parts of Forest School this year. Well done to all of the groups this half term you have been amazing and  you’ve learnt lots of new outdoor skills.

Self Portraits

Reception used chalks to draw pictures of themselves on the tree stumps and trees today. The children loved sharing their pictures with each other, talking about the different parts of their body. Beautiful pictures Reception!

Leaf Kebabs

Reception had a fantastic afternoon making leaf kebabs this week. They each made their own kebab discussing the colours, sizes and textures of their leaves and why they are now all different colours. This activity also developed their fine motor skills. Great job Reception!

Reception Meet Rosie Bear

This week at Forest School Reception met Rosie Bear, who is our forest friend that loves meeting new children and playing with them in her forest. All of the children introduced themselves to Rosie by telling them their name. Rosie had a lovely time playing with you all in her forest, she can’t wait for you to come back next week!

We discussed at the end how we made our pictures and what we really liked about each other’s. well done Key Stage 1!
