Reception found four sticks that were the same length by measuring them against their arm. They then laid the sticks out into a square shape to create a picture frame, which they then filled with lots of forest resources to make a pretty pattern or picture.

This week reception have been reading the storybook ‘peace at last’ so we decided to link the story to our forest school session. The story is about lots of different sounds that you might hear at night around your home, so we listened to all the different sounds in the forest. Children were then blindfolded on the field and had to use their listening sense to follow the sound of instruments being played by Miss Coleman. We had lots of fun and moved very carefully to the sounds we could hear.

This week KS1 had a go at creating a picture using only the resources in the forest. They used sticks, twigs, feathers, leaves and any other bits an bobs they found. Each child then told the rest of the group what their picture was of and what materials they had used to make it.
