Whittling Wood
Reception have been busy whittling wood because they are in the process of making a Forest Friend.
Different Knots
We learnt different knots in order to put up our shelters.
Making Tea Coasters
Today we made tea mats. Firstly, we used a bow-saw to saw a disc of wood about 2cm in thickness. Then we spent time designing our patterns to go on our discs of wood. After that we painted our discs of wood and left them to dry in the spring sunshine.
Making Shapes
Today we used a rope to make different shapes. We had to communicate with each other to make desicisons on; which children were being corners, how many corners that shape had and which children needed to make the rope go in straight lines to create straight edges.
Signs of Spring
We explored Calthorpe Haven for signs of Spring and used a digital camera to record our findings.
